Teams & groups
Split a list into random groups — by the number of groups you need, or by how many people should be in each.
No account. No tracking. Your lists stay in your browser.
One per line.
Your groups will appear here.
Choose Number of groups (“split into 5 groups”) or People per group (“groups of 4”). With people per group, Pick makes as few groups as needed so nobody is over the limit, then balances them — so a few groups may be one smaller.
Name the groups if you like (Table A, Room 2…), then copy, print, share or present them. Press the button again for a fresh shuffle.
The list is shuffled with secure randomness and dealt into groups, so every arrangement is equally likely and group sizes differ by at most one.
Grouping is by count only — Pick doesn't consider who people are, which keeps it simple and impartial.
26 students, groups of 4: Pick makes ⌈26 ÷ 4⌉ = 7 groups. 26 doesn't divide by 7 evenly, so five groups get 4 students and two get 3 — nobody is in a group of more than 4.
Everything happens in this browser tab. Names and choices aren't uploaded, stored or tracked — a share link only exists if you create one, and its contents live after the#in the address, which browsers never send to a server.
